The work of the first conference for digital transformation in Yemen and the accompanying exhibition under the slogan “Promoting Financial Inclusion”, organized by the We Are All Innovators Organization for Developmental Technology, began in Sana’a today.

The three-day conference aims to push towards the development of electronic transactions to enhance financial inclusion through stimulating the establishment of main axes for a national strategic plan in digital transformation, raising community awareness of electronic financial transactions and financial inclusion means and tools, and contributing to the creation of the e-commerce environment in Yemen in its legal aspects. Economic, commercial, logistical, “infrastructure” and cultural cooperation with relevant parties.

At the opening of the conference in the presence of the Vice-President of the Higher Authority for Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Houri, Dr. Ali Yahya Sharaf El-Din, Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research stressed that the conference is an opportunity that invites us to innovation and innovation, noting that the world is developing at every moment, and we must keep pace with this development technologically and technically.

Sharaf El-Din added: We, thanks to God Almighty and despite the aggression against our country, were able with our simple capabilities and our bright minds to make qualitative leaps in the field of digital transformation, calling for the need for the transition to digital transformation to include all aspects of life and that the transition is not limited to the financial aspect despite its importance.

The Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research pointed out the importance of the government having a central information bank through which it can take the right decisions. For his part, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Eng. Taha Zabara, explained that the promotion of financial inclusion has become a reality imposed by the developments of communications and information technology, and one of the postulates that societies are moving towards achieving, adding: In our country, digital transformation represents one of the most important strategic goals adopted by the state and government within the matrix and programs The national vision for building the modern Yemeni state.

Eng. In turn, the Executive Director of We Are All Innovators of Technology Development, Eng. Wafaa Al-Areqi, indicated that the conference is the first building block in our country’s comprehensive digital transformation journey, calling on all participants to support this event and its outputs so that we can move our country towards a comprehensive digital transformation; In order to achieve sustainable development and stability of society.

The conference will discuss six themes, including working papers on digital transformation, the current situation and future trends, financial inclusion and comprehensive digital transformation, electronic wallets and applications and their impact on enhancing financial inclusion, challenges and risks of achieving financial inclusion and digital transformation, the role of the state in supporting the implementation of financial inclusion, and the employment and impact of financial inclusion. to sustainable development. In addition, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Eng. Taha Zabara, and the Secretary of the Central Bank of Yemen, Mr. Hashem Al-Amir, inaugurated the exhibition accompanying the first conference on digital transformation, which includes the latest technologies in digital transformation, international and local experiences, and leading institutions in this field.
