Under the slogan “Building and Strengthening the Culture of Digital Institutions”, the “We are all creative technology development” organization, in partnership with the “Technology Community Center for Training and Consulting”, held the second digital transformation conference in Yemen, for the period from 14 to 16 November 2023), which comes under the media sponsorship of the Technology Community Magazine.

 The conference was inaugurated on Tuesday morning under the official patronage and in the presence of Sheikh Sultan Al-Sami, member of the Supreme Political Council, His Excellency the Prime Minister Prof. Dr. Abdulaziz bin Habtoor, Mr. Mahmoud Al-Junaid, Deputy Prime Minister for National Vision Affairs and Chairman of the Executive Office of the National

Vision Department, Mr. Obaid bin Dabia, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, and Dr. Ali Sharaf El-Din, Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

Eng. Wafaa Taha Al-Ariqi, Executive Director of We Are All Creative, welcomed in her speech during the opening of the conference all the attendees and the official sponsor of this conference and all those who participated in the preparation of its work as a main sponsorship from the Bank of Yemen and Kuwait, and a golden sponsorship from Tadhamon Bank and Yemen Bank Bahrain Comprehensive and co-sponsorship from Alkuraimi Islamic Microfinance Bank, Yemen Financial Services Company WeNet, Bitasis Information Systems Company, Fastlink Information Systems Solutions, Muftah Exchange and Remittances Company, and Al Rawda Exchange & Transfers.

In her speech, she stressed the importance of believing in the necessity of digital transformation to reach a strong digital national economy, and the need to reach this goal with the cooperation of all parties related to digital transformation in Yemen. At the end of her speech, she pointed out that the conference is everyone’s conference and everyone is responsible for its success and for implementing the recommendations and ideas that will come out of it.

At the opening ceremony, His Excellency the Prime Minister delivered a speech by the official sponsor of the conference, in which he stressed the possibility of Sana’a becoming an important financial commercial center because we have the minds, creators and serious people who have reached advanced stages in the field of digital technology.

The Assistant General Manager of Bank of Yemen and Kuwait, Director of Information Technology at the Bank, Eng. Ali Hanina, delivered a speech by the main sponsor of the conference, and he referred in his speech to the role played by the Bank in supporting digital transformation in our country.

During the opening, the attendees also followed a special presentation on the activities of the “We are all creative technology development” organization and its role in implementing many events that aim in their entirety to raise technological awareness in the country, and contribute to moving stagnant waters in the field of digital transformation by bringing the relevant parties together to come up with a work agenda that will be followed during the year leading to the third edition of the Digital Transformation Conference in Yemen.

After that, Al-Sami and Bin Habtoor opened the exhibition accompanying the conference, which is for electronic services and modern digital technologies, in which many financial and software companies, the monitoring and marketing systems company and many entrepreneurs’ projects participated.

The attendees toured the sections and corners of the exhibition and expressed their admiration for what they saw of the creative youth movement and in various fields of technology.

On the conference platform, the attendees followed the activities of the working paper sessions presented in six different axes, where (7) papers were presented in the first axis under the title Community Awareness in Digital Transformation. The papers stressed the importance of having a national strategy for digital transformation in Yemen.
